What makes a good Midwestern Wife

I am creating this running list of attributes of Midwestern Wife. I'm not making fun of or anything mean spirited, its just things I've noticed about MW since moving back after 9 years in the South. I easily do at least half of them anyway, and if you can't laugh at yourself then why bother?

1. A new pair of white tennies are essential for every vacation, especially if you are on an airplane. And no you can't pack them because they don't fit in the suitcase. You wear them in the airport, on the plane and frequently at your new destination. You are proud of your new shoes. Besides they are the most comfortable ones you brought so it makes sense to wear them on any excursion that may require walking. Even with a skirt or swimsuit.

2. Casseroles are served at least once a week at your house. And most of them freeze beautifully so when you get a free moment you whip one up with that extra can of cream of mushroom and freeze for later.

3. Are certain in their decisions. You are difficult to sway in a different direction from which you chose.

4. Hashbrowns can be eaten at every meal and are often the integral ingredient to a meal.

5. Black or brown is your color of choice or shoes, purses, jackets, coats, socks, belts, boots....that way it all just matches and you don't stand out.

6. A turtleneck sweater is a staple in your wardrobe, its appropriate in all settings, even a night on the town, especially with a little necklace hanging over the front cuff.
